I have been a fan of radio for the past four years, mainly with a particular station in mind, but have strayed off the course at certain points. I have gotten to know different radio DJ's and the different listeners, from all walks of life. I have seen them do their thing on and off the booth. Some have chosen to add me to their personal accounts, some have not.

I guess the reason I am writing this is probably due to what I deem as personal "attacks" on some by a particular individual (whom I will not dignify by citing the name or the account). Obviously, that individual has nothing to do for spare time, and thus, decided to do it. Good thing said DJs either made humor in the light of it or merely ignored it.

There have been some who have decided to raise up their swords and challenge / diss the individual. That's okay, but always remember that you can only do so much. After all, there might be the possibility that said individual is only trying to get your goat and / or crave attention. Just like poking the animals, it is only a matter of time before said animal decides to just bite you in the end.

Moral lesson: be careful.

Speaking of which, I have been known to have a not-so-good standing / reputation with certain individuals. Whether that is warranted or not, it is not for me to decide. They have their means, whether blocking from viewing tweets or not accepting YM / Facebook requests or verbally / visually expressing said disgust / disdain, I respect their decision and I would rather not diss them in public or even in private, because that is who they are. That is their nature and that they are being true to themselves just as I am being true to mine. I have learned that if there is nothing good to say to someone, don't say it. You keep it to yourself, or tell it to that person directly. Whether one can mend fences is anyone's guess, but it can happen. Anything can happen right now, so I choose to hope and believe.

However, there might be certain things that have no hope.

Welcome to 2010. A new year. A new decade, even. A new era, filled with chances at new opportunities. Opportunities that may lead to bigger and better things.

So, what could be something new that you can do? Well, one thing you can do as a start a hobby. You go find something you love and enjoy and you go do it.

Well, one new thing or hobby you could do would be to blog. There are lots of things to write about, from your own perspectives and views on life, to even doing reviews different concepts and ideas. What is even better if you can blog using fashionable equipment. Having great equipment would make things easy for you. It may even bring inspiration for your topics. Once you're good, you can refine the art by adding on to it, pictures, links, videos, the works.

Another thing would be to go reach out and meet people. Man is a greagarious and a social being. With all the different social networks available, it has been a great way to get to know people who share the same interests or even total strangers.

Speaking of social networks, a new one sprouted late last year called Fizzer.ph. Now, what makes Fizzer different from the other social networks, one may ask? Manual Reboot that I truly deserve

It has been a while since I have been able to fully thresh out thoughts that do not have a specific product agenda (whether it is a crosspost from my own blog or a specific item post, of which i still need to do at least 3).

I honestly want to get 2009 out of the system already. I am already sick and tired. Disappointing so far and tough on the emotional psyche. But inevitably, you need to face those kind of things, suck it up and move.

These are tests. I tell ya. Tests of faith and courage. There will always be scars from the experience, but it is these that tell you how things went and how the story goes.

Looking back, with all the things that I have seen, it is key that you live it the way you want it done.

Meanwhile, watch out 2010. Something new is rising out of the neighborhood.

I had the pleasure of attending the opening of the newest Haagen-Dazs store in the ground floor of the Midtown Wing of Robinson's Place Manila. It was my first time ever to go to that particular mall. (never been there since i never had the reason to go there).

The treat was obviously the ice cream. Talk about high class and first class. That is the Haagen-Dazs that I have been famillar with. But the major surprise was that someone dignified opened the branch. It was the (now outgoing) US Ambassador to the Philippines Kristie Kenney.

With the Yuletide season approaching, Haagen-Dazs will be offering some special Christmas delicacies to wet your appetite.

the day my dad passed away actually went so well...

the last moments of it was actually watching a movie.

the ugly truth is a romantic comedy featuring the twosome of gerald butler (who really acted who he really is) and katherine heigl (who looks so pretty).

really funny and amazing. humor is always a good thing. i hope you were able to watch it.

i know the day would be memorable otherwise, but other than that, it was a really good day.

The Smart B-Free Day

I had the chance to be at the Smart B Free Day one month ago. It was interesting since it was a week before the events of Ketsana and Parma. It was held at the Megatent, more known to being a hub of relief efforts.

Dongles showing the different school colors were given away to the lucky students who attended the event. I find this dongle handy whenever I might go elsewhere. The school colors belong to the 18 schools under the UAAP and NCAA umbrella.

I personally find it cool, because we are living in the age of the laptop and this will handy for all students, so kudos to SMART.

The White Forest

This is the newest cake of Red Ribbon. The White Forest. Most of us were famillar with the Black Forest, but the White Forest is a little bit different.

It is composed of creamy white chocolate and light, moist white chiffon cake layered between real cherry bits filling and a fusion of cream and white chocolate flakes. Crowned with beautiful cream rosettes with luscious long-stemmed red maraschino cherries on top as well as some white chocolate shavings all around.

45 Pesos means what to you? A Stand UP to Poverty post

Last week, i had the privilege to see first-hand the state of dirt-poor poverty. Thanks to Campaigns PR and UN, I finally get a crack at a immersion-like state.

We were briefed beforehand about what we were to go through. The actual experience of interacting and being there in the area is absolutely different from what i had envisioned.

One group was residing underneath an aqueduct-like tunnel, while another resides directly underneath a bridge.

They do not have a fixed income. Their kids have problems with education. Health is a major concern. Government inadequacies....

That is poverty. Compared to how we live? A large percentage of people live with less than $1 a day. How can you equate that for you? Well. Try living on 45 pesos for a whole day.

45 Pesos. Less than a meal at McDonald's,

I spent 10 pesos on pandesal. 17 pesos on instant noodles. 10 pesos on a bag of nuts. 6 pesos on water. That's 43 pesos already. Imagine you have to do that everyday. It is mind-boggling, to say the least.

As such, I stand up to fight poverty. I pray for truth and accountability. I wish I could do a better job, but i know i will with the power of the ballot.

The Ketsana Experience: a.k.a. Blog Action Day post for 2009

I think Filipinos can best narrate the story about the Climate Change best as of the moment. This is mine.

Saturday morning. Work ended 7am. It was the last Saturday of the month, so I dropped by to visit a couple of friends (named Chico and Delamar). Normally, I would stay long, but the weather wasn't in a cooperative mood. I left early and had a quick breakfast at my fave ortigas haunt, Tapsi ni Pasing. I wanted to go home, so i braved the rains for a bus. Unfortunately, it was not long before the first effects of the typhoon began to strike. I, along with the bus became marooned in the street beside the People Power Monument. Actually, not just us, but a lot more. Three movies on the screen passed before we managed to get moving onto Katipunan Ave's extension (a.k.a the way to White Plains). It was past lunch time. Unfortunately, traffic endured until I gave up and went down at Gate 2, taking the mighty mighty steps of Barangka. I assumed that Marikina was safe, because who would have expected it to flood that stretch of A.Bonifacio Ave? To my horror and surprise, I saw an unprecedented event, being waist-deep in water in Marikina. The other option was to go take Marcos Highway. Then again, the waters forced me to stop at Sta. Lucia at dusk. Knowing that, I bought food at Mini-Stop (which had to forcibly close) and stayed inside the Jollibee branch of Robinson's Metro East (sneakily, since I'd rather not stay elsewhere in the mall, for personal security purposes). There, i discovered the power of RockEd Radio and newfound admiration and respect for Jam 88.3 (not that it will alter anything). As the night passed, Gang, Lambert, etc. reported on what went on in the whole night. Callers, texters, tweeters sharing the madness that was Ketsana. Managed to get out early morning Sunday. Had to walk almost all the way home, seeing carnage and desolation run rampant. Mud, sand, damage. Everything. Feet was tiring. Lucky to see a former school service driver of mine. Who had a dead passenger to deliver to the morgue. Got home around lunch time, a full day later than what i wanted. No electricity until very late at night.

And as such, what else can i say... as we look back at the past few days, with the topic on hand, it is important to know that climate change is a fact of life. It is a natural occurence, but accelerated by man. It is important that we take responsibility of what we do. Just do the right thing and be responsible.

The Echo - A Movie Review

Finally, I was able to watch a movie in a movie theater in a long while. I was able to sneak this in after an event in Makati (Thanks to Az).

The Echo, of course, is a remake of Sigaw, a Pinoy thriller featuring Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin. Yam Laranas directed both versions. Iza Calzado played the same role in both versions.

The sound quality is interesting because the key in the story is the sound, which places a tingle on your spine with the scare factor. For a guy who feels he might die from heart problems, this is scary.

Support the movie, it will scare you. Bring a friend. So that you can have someone to hold on to.

My First Fro-Yo ever.

The Texas Roadhouse Experience

A week ago, i had the great opportunity (Thanks to Yehey!) to be able to partake of sweet succulence of The Texas Roadhouse Grill. Certain members of the blogging community were present to taste and savor the Western experience at their El Pueblo branch.

Texas Roadhouse Grill opened their first branch last March 2007 @ Bonifacio High Street. Their El Pueblo branch opened in November that same year. I have always been intrigued by them every time i pass by the area and i finally got my chance to dine there.

I was able to partake of the following dishes when I was there:
This soup has a Piknik added and it is yummy. Considering the cool weather we have been experiencing, it is a nice complement.

Jesse James Sampler: Yummy succulent flavor with the added sauces.

Baby Back Ribs: The meat was well done and delicious. I love eating corn and the fries were a nice touch.

Rib-Eye: Whoa. Succulent. Delicious. Beware those with heart issues. LOL. I mean, it is really a delicious dish. You would really savor the flavor of the steak. Veggies and mashed potato accentuate the meat.

Shrimp and Salmon Skewer: Those who like seafood can partake of this sweet dish. There is a lemon sauce that gives flavor to the seafood.

Mighty Oreo Mud Pie: You look at the dessert. It is HUGE. Best shared with a friend, or a date. Uber sweet.

Just as a footnote, it is neat that the grilling area is visible, so you can see how your food is being made to order as you prefer.

Wi-fi is enabled in the area, and if you drink, there is a bar. A smoking area is present as well. The also have TV's set up so you can watch whatever is on. The people there are wonderful and great. Cowboy up!

ramblings over nothing

it has been hard on the psyche with my camera not being with me. i really wish my camera can be with me right now, but nope, it is still in a state of rehab as of the moment.

i have been a bit active lately with blog events over the past week, from food extravaganzas to techie new stuff. expect those stuff to trickle in slowly. hopefully (at least) one per day. it is admittedly hard to balance that with my work schedule. i have been busy as well with my other blog, keeping it updated as well. i think i am really engrossed with it. after all, i love sports.

again, don't forget to register. last day is 6 weeks away.

once i settle my finances, time to purchase cd's. i really miss that.

Get up stand up

First things first, i want to thank nina terol(you can add a -zialcita to that soon) and paul z. for the invitation last saturday at conspiracy.

what was on? just a simple stand-up session with mike unson and his cartel. i, unfortunately, missed out on paul and nina's performance, but i still enjoyed the night overall.

we are scratching the surface with stand-up. and i am not talking about the gay ones that are very prevalent everywhere. i am referring to the likes of mike, tim tayag, stanley chi, etc. we can be funny without the excess that gay comics provide. there is a reason why i haven't really been comfortable with those kinds of comics.

i personally know a couple of really funny people, so there is something good with this kind of entertainment.

anyway, speaking of stand up, someone just made a move for good pr by sliding down and having the sacrifice. now, will noynoy be able to fully decide as to whether he ought to be running. among ed and grace padaca have already taken themselves out for him. with 2010 being 3 months away, the intensity approaches.

RIP Ka Erdy, but Monday being declared a holiday for you smacks political in nature.

Avatar featurette screening

James Cameron has been pretty quiet since that movie called Titanic. We haven't really heard from him much, but finally he has his first movie since the 1997 classic. Yes, it has been 12 years.

The movie is Avatar, a project he has been conceptualizing for a long long time (to the point he has asked to change the title of the movie version of Nickelodeon's Avatar: the Last Airbender (which features the guy from Slumdog Millionaire).).

I was given the opportunity to watch a snippet from the movie (Thanks to RX 93.1, especially Francesca). The limited showing was held in the newest IMAX located in SM North EDSA. Come to think of it, it was the first time I would be watching in an IMAX facility.

I was with my fellow bloggers who watched the 16-minute screening (and teaser trailer).

There were three screenings of the feature, at least two were radio station sponsored. I managed to get in the earlier screening before the screening I was scheduled to watch.

As for the contents, James prefaced it by saying no plot spoilers will be revealed and asked us to enjoy the show. And yes, I did. Nothing beats watching a movie with good company.

Those who watched the RX screening after me sure would agree with that statement.

Inception movie teaser trailer

Warner Bros. Pictures presents this teaser trailer for INCEPTION. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The film started its principal photography in July and will hit theaters July, 2010. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the film is a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind.

Bayan-Anihan

I had the privilege of being invited to this latest endeavor of Gawad Kalinga.

We all know Gawad Kalinga as the organization behind the house building everywhere, but that is not just their goal. Their goal also is to eradicate poverty and creating a community of nation-building.

The next step in that process is what is called the Bayan-Anihan. The project is in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture. Held last July 8 @ the GK Selecta Farm in Cainta (and in July 15 @ Gerona, Tarlac, which I was unable to attend), the program aims to eradicate hunger and promote self-sufficiency through backyard organic farming.

In line with how GK does it, it involves a multi-sectoral approach as to the nature of the project, between GK, DA, NGOs, academe, LGUs, private sector and the youth.

Currently, 115 GK-BA farms dot the landscape, producing 24 metric tons of foodstuff.

This campaign aims to develop values like self-worth, hard work, excellence, bayanihan and care and concern for health and the environment.

The Food Court Wi-Fi Experience

Last Saturday, I had the chance to test the wi-fi capability of SM Megamall. This was to coincide with the Filipino Food Festival that was going on. In addition to that, the people of Anvil Publishing (remember the Kulinarya book) were there to promote a cooking demo at the Podium (which coincided with the Ateneo vs UST game at the Philsports Arena)

The bloggers were few, met some new personalities and saw old hands. (Coincidentally, it was a Transfans meet-up that day). Given that, there was a better chance of winning prizes. Congrats to everybody, since no one went home empty-handed (with Cher securing the grand prize). Mine was a cookbook, which I gave to my mom (she would put it to better use than I would).

Wi-fi was good, speed ok, considering the size of the mall and the possbile number of users.

I am looking forward to the other places you can go online.

Oh, just for you to know about the Food Court in Megamall:

It was opened to the public on 12/6/92 (the 5th mall to have one at the time). From the original 21 tenants, it has grown to currently 70, with 10 of those being part of the original 21.

There are 33 SM Foodcourts. The first one was located in SM Makati (a.k.a. the bridge between the MRT and Glorietta).

ASUS update #1

Last July 9, ASUS, through its ASUS Foundation, donated 40 brand new computers to the Sun Valley E-learning Digital Center of the Dr. Arcadio Santos National High School - Sun Valley Annex in Paranque City as part of the APEC Digital Opportunity Center Project entitled ADOC 2.0. The computers will benefit some nine hundred (900) high school students. The said project aims to help thousands of students gain access to the vast information currently available online and train them with sufficient computer skills needed to survive in the new digital age.

Gracing the occasion were Paranaque Congressman Roilo Golez (2nd District), MECO Ambassador Antonio Basilio, TECO Ambassador Donald Lee, ASUS Foundation Director Wen-Ling Lee, OIC Principal Thelma F. Montiel and representative of ASUS Philippines.

In addition to the 40 desktops, twenty (20) ASUS Eee PCs were donated for a mobile education truck in Paombong, Bulacan.

Back in 2003 APEC meeting in Bangkok, Taiwan initiated the APEC Digital Opportunity Center (ADOC) with the goal of bridging the digital divide among APEC Economies. So far, ADOC has been able to collaborate with seven APEC economies (Chile, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam).

Being a political observer

As a Development Studies alumnus, I always felt that I have to be more involved on issues than the regular person, since I do understand the issues. I have to be more passionate and even if I am so far from the norm with regards to what I ought to be given my educational background, I know I am doing my own little share.

I was at this conference convened by the Movement for Good Governance on the first of July in AIM. There is a recording of the discussion held there on the Music section of my multiply. Feel free to provide input on the discussion.

A few weeks from that, the people behind the Facebook event No to Con-Ass held their second EB at the Metrowalk area.

One common denominator: Juana Change was at both events.

Fresh from sick bay

I am still stuck with the sniffles. but I am doing fine. So what have i done over the past few weeks. you can see i am flooding the blog with stuff from the armchairsportsblogger site. Here are some pictures.

That is where I am now based. Still stuck in graveyard, but at least still employed. Currently doing back office work.

People here are nice and great. There is free coffee and it is a little nearer to my home compared to my previous job.

Pay is a little bit lower than what I was accustomed to getting, but at least I am earning, to defray the costs of living the life I am accustomed to living.

During my mini-sabbatical, I dropped by RX a lot. So here are some pictures from my visits.

Bern is one of the finalists of the search for hazel's new partner. and here is the winner:
her name is Cerah. And she is such a smart, witty and amazing lady. Oh, Pauline is boarding with Tom on After Hours, so keep them company as well.

Momentous occassions also are prevalent. Remember Waking Up A Vegan, the first time Meryll and Alpha sang?

I also finally got a chance to chill with Gelli on Sundays, which can be a chore due to the time and my weird drop bys on the Show.

The Philips GoGear Experience

I have had the privilege of securing a new music player from Philips. It is the Philips GoGear Aria (4Gig). Like Ria a.k.a Yapatoots, I thank the Man for that one.

What are the specs of the Aria?

First, the Aria is small, similar to the size of the the Nokia 8850. It has a 2-inch display screen. In addition, there is keylock at the bottom. The screen is not of the touch screen variety, but there are buttons on the side are clearly defined. It has a stylish feel, one you can flaunt out to your peeps as you go around the Metro and beyond.

Listening to it is a wonder. I always liked Philips for the sound quality of their earphones and they deliver the goods again. The ambient sounds out there are neutralized and are not an issue. The sound is crisp and clear. You can only play Mp3s and WMAs, but that is perfectly fine with me. And 30 hours of playing music is a great thing, as would 6 hours of video play. The FM Recording is legit and ok. (Check my recording of the RX Concert Series feat. Paraluman on my music page). The Voice Recording is workable and it is in mp3 format already (I am looking at using it with potential interviews. I am eyeing one opportunity in July. Paging my friends with MCA Music, *wink wink*). The FullSound experience is incredible.

Other features a text reader and also a picture reader that you can use to slideshow pictures, which is neat.

The Past few days using the Aria (now called Scat, as a homage to being the 4th generation boombox after Soundwave, which is still with me at home.) has been great. Thanks again to Philips. The slogan is "let your ears decide." I think my ears have already.

the new chapter

last night was the start of a new chapter. a new era, so to speak.

it was my first day at OSRP, LLC as a Sales Administrator, or as some might say, BPO slaves.

i consider this as a blessing, considering this is one of the benefits of being with wonderful people doing wonderful things.

i turned in my resignation from my last job thursday morning, minutes before i went on a mini-sabbatical. during that phase, i decided to let things be and work on my job application when i got back from the confines of manila. i wanted to enjoy being with good friends, good people and God.

i learned a lot of things there. spent time with myself in a conducive environment.

weekend finished, gone home. days later, got a call for an interview next day. days later, got a call for another interview. days later, job offer. now, day 2 of training. gotta love it.

looks good. a little bit challenging, but tenable as it will avoid sleep. ym will be fine, although other applications are barred.

off i go now... ;)

Breaking the Silence: The UNICEF Campaign to end Child Pornography

Last June 2, I was privileged to be invited to this campaign at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium inside the RCBC Plaza in Makati. This event is the world premiere of "Red Leaves Falling" an animated film on child pornography and child sex trafficking. Organized by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) as well as the Stairway Foundation, the premiere also included a theatrical presentation of Cracked Mirrors, which was directed by Monica Ray. Monica is also the writer-director of the film and received a huge round of applause from the intellectual crowd in the auditorium.

The movie is based on a short story from a book compliation Monica wrote in 2001 entitled "Black Angels, Street Children Realities.' Its premiere is part of the "Silence is Acceptance" awareness campaign launched by UNICEF last May 27. Other organizations involved in the said campaign are Council for the Welfare of Children, Anti-Child Pornography Alliance, Microsoft Philippines, AKAP-BATA, Kabataan Consortium, Share a Child Movement, ECPAT Philippines and PREDA.

Stairway Foundation also made previous forays into animation, garnering numerous awards along the way. Those movies: "Daughter, A Story of Incest" and "A Good Boy, A Story of Pedophilia" were included with "Red Leaves Falling" in a kit that I received from UNICEF, to which I am very pleased and in turn, I will donate this to the Development Studies Program of the Ateneo de Manila University (under the stewardship of its head, Leland dela Cruz) once I at least watched all three movies. I believe that the Program would make better use of the kit and make it more accessible to the NGOs and other institutions that would use it. The kit also includes an instructional manual that serves as like a teacher's kit.

The occasion also served as an opportunity to get people to be involved in calling for the passing of the Anti-Child Pornography Act in the House of Representatives (the bill has already passed the Senate and its version was authored by Loren Legarda as what she announced on the ANC Forum last Friday). Unfortunately, this measure is still in the backburner for some unknown reason. (You can make your guesses as to what was more urgent.)

Due to another commitment, I had to miss out the 2nd half of the RH Bill event.

as i was going home from a podcast recording, i encountered this new promo from Jollibee that will last the whole month of June.

Since the movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be released nationally this month, new squirtable containers were made available for an additional 79 pesos if you buy a burger meal. 4 containers to choose from: Prime, Bumblebee, Ironhide and Megatron.

And I love the movie a lot, so this may be of significance and since toys are a bit on the high side.

Terminator: Salvation - The review

I managed to get the chance to watch a special screening of Terminator: Salvation @ Greenbelt 3 Cinema 2.

The movie featured Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Moon Bloodgood (who i think has a nude scene edited out by McG) and Helena Bonham Carter.

The visual effects are amazing. Really awesome CGI work, too.

Personal advice: Make sure to stock up on the Terminator movies and the Sarah Connor Chronicles. It provides a good framework for Terminator: Salvation. McG actually placed in some tidbits that help in bringing back the essence of previous movies and the tv series. Of course, one thing stands out.

And yes, i am not going to spoil you with something. Go watch.

end of blog sabbatical

it has been 5 days since i last checked my multiply. how come? why that long? i guess i took my sweet time checking them. i have a lot of things stacked up and i just want to get things straightened and cleared.

i spent three days in the hinterlands. then two days figuring out my current employment status and trying to resolve it.

i missed out a lot of things and events. and there is a tendency to feel withdrawn and out of whack. so, i took a few days to be ready and firing, so to speak.

due to the delays, i had to move back the posts i wanted to do. good thing i already got the playboy stuff up already. i still need to put up with a few other things. expect a lot of stuff until the end of the week.

Playboy May 2009 Issue

This month, the Playboy May 2009 issue pays tribute to the Philippines. Aiza Marquez is the cover girl with a homage to an Amorsolo classic, Portrait of a Filipina. This month's Playmate Suan Javinez shows us the ideal look of a flight attendant. Tourism Secretary Ace Durano holds court in 20 Questions, while Seth Rogen is featured on the Playboy interview.

This issue also covers special events that took place from the anniversary, especially its Birthday Party at the Coconut Palace. Other important aspects of the Philippines like its unknown heroes, key destinations and Arnis are covered as well.

Two special events are highlighted this issue. The Fiction Writing Contest deadline I previously discussed before has been extended to June 15. On May 30, it will be the Playboy Dodgeball Tournament @ Club 650.

As the hours tick closer to what I visualize and cool, I guess the belief that you can be right about your personal assessment of someone. Just like statistics, it can be manipulated to suit your own biases and needs.

I think everybody is much ado over the Ako Mismo campaign. Everybody is fussing over them since their appearance in the Ricky Hatton demolition. Their cryptic tendencies pretty much came to the fore with the multiply posts that sprouted regarding the possibility of this being used by other leaders. You must have read it already.

Apparently, it struck a nerve with Maxene Magalona, who wisely posted a note on her Facebook page. I am going to copy the post in full.

First of all, before I accepted this project, we made sure that this had nothing to do with political campaigns. And we were assured that it wasn't. I am shocked that people actually see this advocacy as something negative and corrupt. Instead of people seeing it as an improved way of the Filipino life, they choose to find something wrong with it. Sayang yung project.

Regardless if you receive campaign emails or not, it is up to you to decide on what to do. In a way, this campaign is also encouraging people, especially the younger generation, to register and VOTE. Just like the "Don't Vote" campaign in the US, the Ako Mismo org hopes to help in increasing the number of voters. We musn't be apathetic.

These kinds of people are actually what make the Philippines seem like a hopeless country. I mean, here is this movement, actually trying to make a difference in the Filipinos (since change begins with oneself) and instead of believing in it, there are some people who choose to put it down. I know that our country hasn't been improving much but come on, we can't just give up. We HAVE to take a stand. As the commercial says, poverty, inadequate education and insufficient jobs are not the main problems we are currently experiencing. The biggest problem that the Philippines is suffering from is its people's loss of hope. I thought that this ad would actually encourage the Filipinos to begin changing themselves by deciding not to give up. But now I can see that it isn't enough. And honestly, I don't think that anything will ever be good enough for the Filipinos. MASYADONG MARAMING REKLAMO. Nakakapagod na.

Oh well. I just really hope that you guys could give our country a chance. Wag tayo mawawalan ng pag-asa. :)

P.S. Smart denied these allegations. They simply pay for spots so that the ad would air. And with the billions of money SMART-PLDT makes, why would they need to make money out of this campaign? Tsk tsk.

This is nothing but a SINCERE project of DDB. What's in it for them, you ask? The improvement their ad makes in the Filipinos. The way they encourage the Filipinos to CHANGE. must be one of those weird mood swings again, but i felt good. maybe this is because of good people who made your day, like this person right here...

you think work will fully ruin my mood? well, sometimes it won't work. :)

i had a great past few days. friday brought free food at home (happy fiesta) and at work (another baconator bites the dust).

saturday brought sabrina at the podium, a bday party at valle verde (which is a very far walk from podium) and ninja kiss (hi to bonsai).

sunday was well, something for the pac-man.

i was really tired and it was something no mere mortal can overcome.

i hope this week brings more tidings. btw, here are some additional tidbits.

Playboy Philippines April 2009 issue is already out!

So what is in store for Playboy this month?

Besides the fact that you should look at page 135 (bottom right), the much awaited Tetchie Agbayani photos are out. 20 Questions features Gringo Honasan. Another Para kay B literary installment awaits Ricky Lee fans. If you are to wear a suit, this month has the tips on how to get that done, as well as preparing yourself for andropause.

Of course, two ladies become the Playmates of the Month, just like last year. This time, featuring 2 ladies from the 26k Girls of Deal or No Deal. Andrea Shin (the one on the left) and Ruby Basco (the one on the right) are this month's centerfold. After seeing the pictures, I was trying to look for them on Deal or No Deal before they turned into Pinoy Bingo Night.

And yes, who can forget that since Playboy turns 1, they have a special nautical-themed photo shoot with some of the Playmates of the past year. They also included a behind-the scenes documentation of the pictorial.

Issue is already available since the 27th of March. Cheers to Playboy's 1st birthday. More to come.

I am up still, since i slept much of sunday. recharged myself.

i was at SMX last Saturday for the E-Games Domination III event, actually it was more of being at the Alodia Gosengfiao fans day.

my fellow alum of the best.school.ever. held her own fans day due to her notoriety in cosplay and deviantart, etc. even with those who are opposed to the idea, the event pushed through with a major success. unfortunately, not much pictures due to my stupidity of forgetting to unplug the battery from the charger.

it is very nice when people recognize you. i was at kyla's podium mall show a few hours ago. she recognized me from before. (very easy since i wore an ateneo jersey hahaha...). rich was not around, though (i thought he had a game today, to which the r&b princess said that he played last thursday.) afterwards, i planned to have a picture, to which kyla introduced me as one of rich's friends at ateneo to the kyla onliners. yey. gotta love it. oh, and jon santos loves the album.

it has been awhile since i last wrote, and things just came about and turned things into what they are now. i have been a bit stressed and unhinged.

i missed out dolce. i thought that i would be able to squeeze that in, but my personal enjoyment that night was something i just cannot resist. to those who were there, kindly share stories.

i needed a refresh button. sunday was something that really made me feel good. i still feel a bit lonely, but i can manage (for now)

i am disappointed with the way things are going out there. it is as if the world lives in poisoned air. change is an immediate priority, but there is a need for it to come out sooner than what ought to be. people must emerge to lead.

i still bemoan the delays with my back pay, to which payroll has nothing to do with. as such, i am so bankrupt.

i appreciate the little things that make work tick. although i still have to figure out the right way to fix my sleep break. (i have been reminded about that). i do not have a specific account yet, but i have some likeable work that i can manage and also helping / assisting my "mentor"

a friend of mine texted me and needed help as she needed people to go watch the movie (world without thieves) as seen on your left.

saturday was great. you know you passed, then you know you have breakfast and then you know you will have a great time at night (regardless of the idea that i missed my team-building). i can give you 361 reasons.those were the ones i was with that afternoon.

and yes, i got myself new socks.

the man has been inaugurated. massive crowds. twas a sight to behold. i relished the chance to listen to it (i was able to listen to it).

funny anecdote:

at the commander-of-chiefs ball, he managed to speak to a select group of military in afghanistan from his home state. an avid sports fan, he asked if they were for the chisox or for the cubs. out of the 8, only 2 of them were. one was a cardinals fan, the rest were cubs fans. :p

anyway, why the se7en? well, two of my fellow wavemates decided to leave. it kind of saddened the group as a whole. most showed their emotion. even our manager had to speak to the team.

at least they left in good terms and if they ever want to go back, they are welcomed.

life is great so far. i am looking forward to lucena. cant really go out and the fact that there are a lot of interesting gigs really kill me. alas, that is work for you. hehehe...

after all the things, it is really something that fostered good company. and i miss that company. things have been very different. very isolated and alone. parang kulang. parang may nawawala.

What is the reasoning behind the book of choice? One, i like inquisitive and thought provoking reading. It evokes an intuitive self and makes you think about life and meaning. Second, when your favorite philiosophy professor places it as part of the highly encouraged reading list, it is a given that you ought to make an effort to read it. It was something I never got to do then and something that i would like to do now.

I do hope that the cigarette girl would let me have her book. I will take good care of it.
