new job

i just got informed that i am going to be a QA, starting tomorrow, 12nn.


it may be different from my old job, but hopefully it would be something that would be good and positive. a new culture and new vibration.

Pac-Man vs Solis

round by round coverage: (note: opinion noted is not mine but care of saddoboxing.com)


Round 1: Hey Roach got a buzz cut. I got's me this little feeling that Solis aint gonna be undefeated anymore…saaaaaaaaay…within 6 or 7 rounds? Here we go…Bell!!! Solis comes out jabbing. Pac does the same. Straight left from Pac. Body shot by Pac. Hard right hand from Pac. Pac jabbing. Left hand by Pac. Both men look tight but Pac's connecting. Solis jabbing. Straight right from Solis. Pac jabs & then throws the 1-2. Body shots by Pac. Double left from Pac. Right to the body from Solis. Right hook to the body again from Solis. Jab & then a straight left from Pac. Right hand from Solis. Nice. 1-2 from Solis. Left hook from Pac. Solis on the ropes. Pac down stairs. Jab from Solis.


Pretty even round. Nearly favors Pac on activity. Solis just cautious.


Round 2: Pac comes out to a Solis jab. Nothing there really. Solis comes in firing & Pac throws a 1-2 that kinda connects. Pac lands a right hook & then a left & Solis throws ugly. Solis leading with a right counter. Left from Pac. Left hook to the body followed by a right up top from Pac. Pac jabbing. Solis does the same. Solis is jabbing effectively as Pac comes in. Basically just a jab exchange at the moment. Solis to the body. Right hand from Solis & then a jab to follow. Right hand straight down the pipe for Solis.


Round to Solis.


Round 3: Solis comes in slingin. Pac pretty calm. Solis throwing & missing as Pac bobs & weaves. Solis lands a right hand & a left. Straight right & left from Pac. Solis clips Pac when he comes in. Right hand from Solis & Pac punishes him with a left counter. Body shot by Pac. Big left hand from Pac. 1-2 from Pac. Solis backs to the ropes. Double jab from Solis. Right hand body shot from Solis. Right hand from Solis. Left hand from Pac. Body shots from Solis. Left hook & a right upper from Pac. Pac jumps in with a left & Solis slides out. Pac swings & misses at the bell.


Round to Pac.


Round 4: Pac jabs. Left hand from Pac. Jab from Solis. Nice. Right hand followed by a left from Solis. Pac counters with a right. Hip shot from Solis. No time from Pac. Solis jabs. Left hand from Pac. They exchange jabs. Combo from Pac as Solis goes to the ropes. Body shot from Pac. Left hand & then a right & then a left from Pac. Solis combos. Left hook from Solis. Pac counters. Left hook from Pac on the inside during a clench. Head butt. Left hand followed by another. Solis just jabbing. Pac starting to get up to speed now. Right to the body by Solis. Solis pins Pac on the ropes & combos at the bell.


Round to Pac.


Round 5: Solis comes out jabbing. Pac just backing out. Jab from Pac now. 1-2 from Solis. 1 landed. Solis jabbing & then shoots to the body. Body shots from Solis. Pac back to the jab. Clench. Double left hook from Pac. Jab from Solis. 1-2-3 from Pac. His speed looks to be setting in now. Body shot from Pac. Right hand from Solis connected well. Solis unloads a few on Pac while his back is to the ropes. Pac felt that. Solis back to jabbing. Pac pushes in but gets nothing. Left hand from Pac & then a flurry. Solis just eating the blows. Body shot & then a right hook from Solis. Pac tries to get on but Solis oddly enough slips the shots.


Round to Solis.


Round 6: Both men come out to exchange & the match is stoppe dto clean the ring. Solis jabbing. Pac comes in & the bang heads & Pac is cut. The fight's halted right now. They continue. Solis jabs & then combos on Pac. Pac firing. Solis cracks with a straight right hand. Pac felt that. Down goes Solis on a push. Pac lands a huge right & left hook. Pac firing hard. Solis is wild eyed. Pac is hammering him. Solis takes em to the body. He’s holding on for dear life as Pac is trying to close it. Solis fires hooks on the inside. Head but again. Right hand & then a left from Pac. Uppercut from Solis & Pac is rocked. Upper from Pac. Right hand from Pac. Jab from Solis. Exchange to the bell.


That was an ugly a** round. I’d say Pac got it…but Solis took it back.


Round 7: Solis comes out jabbing. Pac swinging wild with hooks on both ends. Jab from Pac. Nice left straight down the pipe from pac. Right hand from Pac. Body shot from Solis. Right hand from Pac. Two left hooks from Pac & Solis is stunned again. Solis back to jabbing. Right hand stops Solis in his tracks. Double jab from Pac. Head butt almost happened again. Jab from Pac. Big left hand again from Pac. 1-2 from Solis. Pac jabs out.


Round to Pac.


Round 8: Pac's winning…but anyone that says the outside ring goings on haven't bothered him…think again. Right hook from Solis. Counter left from Pac. 4 punches from Pac unanswered & down he goes on an upper left.


He barely got up. Pac comes out & nails him with an upper again & he's down again.


It's over.


Here's my opinion…Solis wasn't all that…he was a bit awkward & had some reach...but honestly...it seems that Pac was a bit more unmotivated as usual...he needs to figure out whether or not he's a singer, politician, or a boxer.

unlucky came early

this week, i got the shock of my system....


given the budget cuts in my department, i have been asked to move into the operations department. however, my salary is retained. still, it was frustrating and killing my emotional psyche. (i would term it as a temporary demotion)


sabi nga ng Canadian boss ko, this opens the door for new opportunities. she even added that i have good traits for the supervisory openings.

being a nerd with a dvd marathon...

i so far spent the 4-day weekend at home watching dvds. i bought 3 series... psych (which so far i find funny), without a trace, and criminal minds (which is just plain nuts and cool)...


i find shows like that to be really intellectual, amazing and cool... i love numb3rs. and i find it so nerdy for me to watch.


fine, so i am a nerdy geek... :)

Party Hard!

i am here at the office... i slept here as my body was pretty much exhausted and tired from the partying i got myself to do.



anyhow, it was a fun-filled past 2 days, as i got to enjoy the night with good people.


friday-saturday: it was sitti's performance at the Mall of Asia (the 2nd time i got to go there, both times it was for her). she was joined there by the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra. grabe, ang galing niya. awe-struck. fun. the sittizens were there also. after the gig, we ate at pizza hut (c/o JT: happy birthday!) and then coffee at starbux! wow... went home a happy happy man.


saturday-sunday: first went to eastwood... jeff got me a copy of imago's first album (which is pretty much hard-to-find nowadays). tried to get to listen to raffi and the company, pero 830 na wala pa rin... proceeded to vodka ice bar at greenbelt for the RX Toga party, which was plain insane. the paparazzi was at work again. got to meet good people. grabe, ang saya. :) even droppped by RX afterwards. so there. just awesome, what can i say.


btw, congrats to the graduates.
