SM Manila Free Wi-Fi

Today is National Heroes' Day and today, the people of SM Manila did something heroic by launching turning the mall into a Wi-Fi zone.

Held at the confines of the SM Manila Foodcourt, the wi-fi event featured intrepid bloggers who are heroic in their own way with what they do.

Btw, here are the food establishments who are in the food court:

Avatar featurette screening

James Cameron has been pretty quiet since that movie called Titanic. We haven't really heard from him much, but finally he has his first movie since the 1997 classic. Yes, it has been 12 years.

The movie is Avatar, a project he has been conceptualizing for a long long time (to the point he has asked to change the title of the movie version of Nickelodeon's Avatar: the Last Airbender (which features the guy from Slumdog Millionaire).).

I was given the opportunity to watch a snippet from the movie (Thanks to RX 93.1, especially Francesca). The limited showing was held in the newest IMAX located in SM North EDSA. Come to think of it, it was the first time I would be watching in an IMAX facility.

I was with my fellow bloggers who watched the 16-minute screening (and teaser trailer).

There were three screenings of the feature, at least two were radio station sponsored. I managed to get in the earlier screening before the screening I was scheduled to watch.

As for the contents, James prefaced it by saying no plot spoilers will be revealed and asked us to enjoy the show. And yes, I did. Nothing beats watching a movie with good company.

Those who watched the RX screening after me sure would agree with that statement.

Playboy Philippines August 2009 issue is already out!

The June 2009 issue with Playmate Aya Montez came out, with a matching Mia Gray cover reflecting the environment-centered concept for the month. (Do still buy the issue, as a portion of the proceeds go to Kapit-Bisig para sa Ilog Pasig.)

The July 2009 issue with Playmate Jem Milton came out, with a matching concept cover and a piece regarding Ateneo, among all things.

The August 2009 issue with Playmate Barbie San Miguel is currently available. Why should you buy, other than look at page 112.

2. Sports-centric issue, with Tessa Jazmines writing about Philippine basketball and Vince Golangco (who was with me in La Union for Let's Go Surfing) comparing MMA with Pro Wrestling.
3. Jim Paredes (yes, THAT Jim Paredes doing the shooting of Barbie San Miguel)
4. this month's Cover Girl is Mocha's Grace Oracion. By the way, she was a former member of the Adamson Pep Squad.
5. interviews of Alec Baldwin and Judd Apatow
6. and yes, the articles.

In addition, September looks like going to be fun fun fun as it is going to be someone familiar gracing its cover.

Inception movie teaser trailer

Warner Bros. Pictures presents this teaser trailer for INCEPTION. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The film started its principal photography in July and will hit theaters July, 2010. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the film is a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind.

I actually managed to see this in ANC's Prime Lites (hosted by Boom Gonzales and Gretched Fullido).

it has been a long time since i wrote about nothing, which the rants, raves, thoughts tags below. i admit it has been a bit busy and tweeting is an absolute addiction, plus attention on the sports blog i created.

been through some ups and downs. some inner angst and absolute joys. some good and some not that good. but everything is all good, in general.

no one can ruin me.

i hope to resolve the backblogs i owe myself.

Rest in Peace, Maria Corazon "Cory" Cojuangco Aquino

This picture was taken at the day of the solar eclipse. It feels as if the sun was just there and imagining that up there in skies above that an icon loved and appreciated by everyone, whether here or abroad, local or foreign.

We will continue to fight for justice, for democracy, for guidance, and for what is right.

How to get tickets if you want to watch the UAAP if you are from the best.school.ever:

The following are the ticket distribution and sales guidelines of the University Athletics Office (UAO) for the sale of the UAAP Season 72 tickets.

1. The sale of tickets to the following members of the Ateneo community will be handled by the University Athletics Office (UAO) at two ticket outlets:

a. Blue Eagle Gym Ticket Office for

(1) Alumni
(2) Grade School, High School, and the Professional Schools Faculty, Staff, and Students

b. College Athletics Office at the College Covered Courts for

(3) The Loyola Schools community: Faculty, Staff, and Students
(4) Central Administration and Auxiliary Units Employees

2. Two (2) tickets only per person upon presentation of a valid picture ID.

3. Any one of the following current picture IDs are valid.

Alumni - passport, driver's license or other Philippine government-issued ID card (SSS, GSIS, etc.), AAA ID card (Buti naman; kalokohan yung i-require yung AAA card. - 5FC)
Ateneo Faculty, Staff, and Students - current Ateneo ID card

4. NO PROXY will be allowed for faculty, staff, students, and alumni.

5. Schedule of ticket selling at the Blue Eagle Gym Ticket Booth

9:00AM - 12:00NN & 1:00-6:00PM while supply lasts:

a. On Mondays for THURSDAY games
b. On Wednesdays for SATURDAY games
c. On Thursdays for SUNDAY games

6. Schedule for ticket selling for Ateneo vs. DLSU, Final Four & Championship Games (Thinking ahead! )
